Supervision Style
Pre-licensure supervision is more than just a collaboration between professionals. Teaching has been the lifeblood of my communication style, whether in clinical skills at psychiatric hospitals, tutoring communication and language skills, or instructing martial arts to adults. Those who work with me know that I am always passionate about providing insight and education about mental health. In the integration of these broad scopes of teaching, I have developed what I consider to be a comprehensive, skills-based method of supervision.
A large number of excellent clinicians I have worked with struggled with deep-seated feelings of imposter syndrome. I have unfortunately also worked with some clinicians that are not thoroughly trained and are unable to utilize their learning in meaningful, effective ways during their practice. I expect supervision to be more than just case consultations. Many colleagues have shared stories of their supervision experiences not meeting their clinical needs, or that they only ever experienced “storytelling”-style supervision hours. I don’t believe this to be an effective method to develop effective clinicians.
At my core, I firmly hold the value that I want each and every single one of my supervisees to surpass me as a clinician. If we as a field are not growing, then we are stagnating. Whether you surpass me throughout the course of supervision, or however many years it takes for you to outgrow my knowledge and skill, I want to help provide and develop the framework it takes for you to do so.
Why choose me as your supervisor?

With extensive experience as a medical social worker in acute care settings and years spent working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals specializing in serious mental illness, I can provide valuable insights into navigating complex systems and collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams. Cancellation Policy
I require a minimum of 24 hours of advanced notification for any supervision cancellations. You can cancel your session by leaving a voicemail message or by e-mailing me. Any late cancellations or no shows will be charged at the full rate of the scheduled appointment. Rescheduling may be possible, depending on availability. Regardless of whether or not you meet the 24-hour criteria, and regardless of the reason, please alert me to any possible difficulties in your ability to attend your scheduled appointment. Good communication is necessary to maintain a healthy supervision relationship.
Outstanding Bills
If a supervisee has outstanding bills, supervision will be paused until a supervisee’s bill is fully paid, unless other arrangements have been made. If a supervisee is a member of a group, the other group members will not be immediately responsible for any increases in costs as a result of any pauses in one supervisee’s attendance. Any missed supervision hours will have to be made up in individual or triadic supervision. However, if a member terminates the supervision relationship during the closed group’s course, I reserve the right to increase group costs with appropriate notification and discussion with the group as a whole.
